Karen – Practice Manager

Karen received her Bachelor degree in Biology with a Minor in Environmental Studies from UCF in 2006. While enrolled in school she started working in the Veterinary field and has over 20 years of experience. Karen has a special interest in surgery, anesthesia and radiology. She says; “She has always loved animals and it is an honor being able to work and help them every day!”

At home Karen has a wonderful husky named Wizard , a chunky kitty named Cosmo and a beautiful beta named Free Pretzels. Outside of work She enjoys spending time with family and her critters, going to the beach, being outdoors, traveling and going on adventures.

MaryLu – Reception

Marylu retired from her career in 2012 and moved from Annapolis, Maryland to Treasure Island full time in 2014. Her love of the water and warm weather brought her to this area and her love of animals brought her to the Animal Hospital of Treasure Island. She and her husband are involved in the Great Pyrenees Rescue and have fostered and transported Pyr rescues.

When not at work, Marylu enjoys biking, boating and hiking but mostly spending time with her beloved Pyradoodle Zach, and her husband Paul.

Yanna – Veterinary Nurse

Yanna is a student currently studying biology in hopes of getting into vet school and becoming a reptile veterinarian in the future. When not at work or school Yanna enjoys reading, playing video games, and hiking or kayaking with her bearded dragon Cowboy.
In addition to Cowboy the bearded dragon Yanna has a cat named Valkyrie, an assortment of geckos, frogs, fish, and even several tarantulas and scorpions! Once Yanna is done with school she hopes to bring a dog into her family of odd ball creatures!

Dawn – Kennel and Veterinary Assistant

Dawn has been with the Animal Hospital of Treasure Island for 11 years! Dawn helps mostly “behind the scenes” loving and caring for those pets that have to stay during the day and keeping our hospital looking nice!

Dawn cares for three of her own dogs – three dachshunds “Odie”, “Hildi”, and “Cammie”. She also has a cat called “Mouse”.
